Just a snippet of what you see at Kantha Collection
I decided my bedroom needed some perking up; the last time I’d done anything to it was when my ex-husband moved out. I’d painted it grey, with one wall papered in a bare winter tree design. Upon reflection, no wonder nothing, ahem, “happened” that first year.
All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey
I’ve been for a walk on a winter’s day
I’d be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreaming on such a winter’s day
But. I was in LA, and it was summer. Anyway.
I recently decided I needed to perk up the place, which is also in the prosperity corner of my home, so hello, cha-ching please. I painted it bright white (with a little help from the boyfriend) and got rid of any items that were not high vibration in nature.
I’ve been looking everywhere for a quilt that reflects a happier time, a fuller heart, a more optimistic future. I ordered one that I loved from Overstock but was dismayed to learn, upon opening it, that it was a waxy polyester fabric. Returned. Next. In-person shopping was even more dismaying. Everyone’s so coastal right now.
But today, Facebook, which knows me better than my own mother, turned me on to Kantha Collection, a website that sells blankets made by Indian women from recycled saris. They’re unique, earth-friendly and such a good way to support artisans. Would totally give (read: I want more, please bring me some) as a gift, wouldn’t you?
Can’t wait to see how the feng shui works out once my quilt, blessed by the spirits of women before me, arrives.
