Generosity Is an Advantage for the Human Race

March 29, 2018Vanessa McGrady

Our buds at SoulPancake have a cool new series on generosity and how it has helped the human race evolve, based on a scientific study by the John Templeton Foundation. Here’s the first installment of four, in which a Dating Game-style setup gave women the choice of two “bachelors,” one who gave more selfish-sounding answers than the other. Six of seven women chose Mr. Giving, who would, for example, rather dole out candy for the kids counting on him than go out with friends on Halloween.

For me, I’d say generosity and big-heartedness in friends and lovers is a must-have, not a nice-to-have. Totally makes sense.
