I’m one of those people who’s always looking for organic, fair-trade coffees, (sadly, my faves, Bustelo and Café du Monde, are neither). But somebody sent me* this sample of Colombian coffee from Atlas Coffee Club, and I’m going to say that I’ll be hella sad when I’m done with it. It’s a medium roast with a cocoa overtone, so nice with a little wildflower honey and cream. I didn’t even want to Bulletproof it because it tasted so good.
This coffee-of-the-month club sources beans from all over the world, from a different origin each time. About 50-60% of the coffees it sells are fair trade–and hopefully, as more countries are supported in their coffee growing, they’ll become fair-trade regions as well. But the best thing about the Atlas Coffee Club is that they’re opening awareness to underrepresented areas of the world–you even get a postcard with the down-low.
It would also make a great gift for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. You can select your grind and roast preferences, as well as frequency of delivery (two or four weeks). Even better, order a subscription for your parents AND yourself.
* I accept product samples for this blog, but will never, ever compromise my work for free stuff. If I’m writing about a product, it’s because I like it.
